Retina International is a voluntary charitable umbrella association

Retina International (formerly known as the International Retinitis Pigmentosa Assoc. - IRPA) is a voluntary charitable umbrella association of 33 national societies each of which is created and run by people with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), Usher Syndrome, Macular Degeneration and allied retinal dystrophies, their families and friends.

The main objective should be to promote the search for a treatment for Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), Usher Syndrome, Macular Degeneration and allied retinal dystrophies. Main emphasis should be given to inherited forms of retinal dystrophies.

PARTICIPATION OF PFFB AT THE R.I WORLD CONGRESSES:


The Foundation has participated in several R.I World Congresses despite severe financial constraints. The official delegation consists of two PFFB representatives. However the consultant Ophthalmologist and the Project Coordinators of the research team and the PFFB talking book library have also attended the World Congress more then once. Enlisted below are the R.I World Congresses attended once in recent years:
