This program was started in 1995.

Audio World was established to satisfy the educational needs of the visually impaired individuals in the country. In Pakistan visually impaired persons are often severely neglected. The families of these persons are usually indifferent towards their education and other basic needs. They are acknowledged as a burden and are not accepted in the main stream of society. Such like behaviors and attitudes have a negative impact in the development and overall shaping of their personalities. Pioneering research on Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP)

Darakhshan Resource and Training Centre for Girls and Women with Disabilities was established in 1990 as a Rehabilitation Project of Pakistan Foundation Fighting Blindness. Accessible Internet Café for the Blind

It is a free facility for the blind

Accessible Internet Café for the Blind, has been functioning since January 8, 2007 and contains one server, 10 work stations equipped with Latest JAWS 10.0 screen reading software, Braille Display Device, Magnifier Mouse, high speed DSL internet connection along with Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) scanner and printer. The Café remains opened on the week days from 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm. It is a free facility for the blind. The latest version of Job Access with Speech, (JAWS), and a screen reader to give the blind access to the computer has been installed. Read More
